What Our Patients Are Saying

Lucille C. Wright

When I first came in to see Dr. Winget, I was having problems with my legs.  I was having extreme numbness, tingling, burning pain, stiffness, dull pain when walking, and difficult sleeping. I was prescribed medications, but it didn’t work.  I also had poor circulation in the legs. I notice some changes after two weeks.  Before I couldn’t walk up steps, couldn’t stand very long, and not even walk to the mail box.  But thank God for Dr. Winget, I came out on top where I am able to walk a good distance, stand more that 10 minutes at a time.  I had to stop working because my job required walking and standing, but thanks to Dr. Winget, I am now back to work.

Lara Radford - Migraines/Vertigo

I went to our benefits fair and noticed a sign that read: do you have back pain, migraines, vertigo, leg pain…and I thought to myself YES I DO!!!  That’s when I met Dr. Jill Winget and everything changed. After speaking with her, I had my first evaluation, x rays, and a clear explanation of what could be the cause to so many health issues that I had been suffering from for so many years.

Now I am two months into my treatment plan, and my plantar fasciitis is remarkably better.  I am able to hop right out of bed each day without the normal lower leg and foot pain every morning.  Before going to Dr. James Winget, my lower back was painful to the touch, and standing for any period of time was almost crippling.  But now I am able to stand and shop for much longer periods of time, and the discomfort has decreased.  It seems my headaches have also decreased to mostly seasonal and stress related events; even with that said after a visit with Dr. Winget they are normally gone within 15 minutes.

I can’t say enough about my experience at Raleigh Specific Chiropractic – from the cheerful young ladies that greet you when you walk in the door, to the helpful staff that help train you on all the equipment and teach you all your exercises, and both Dr. Jill and James Winget for helping me to my road to wellness.  THANK YOU for all you’ve done for me!

I was involved in a car accident 35 years ago, which caused severe damage to my spine. I now have degenerative disc disease and I have a tear in my muscle that is located between my spinal cord and vertebra. This allows my discs between my L4 and L5 to protrude and put pressure on my spinal cord. Sometimes the pain I feel from this is unbearable and even sometimes the protrusion of these discs kept me in bed for weeks at a time. I would take steroids, muscle relaxers, and pain pills to try to help relieve any pressure and pain that I was experiencing. I have tried numerous chiropractors, neurologist, physical therapists, massage therapists, and have been to the emergency room on many occasions and nothing seemed to be helping.

I met Dr. Jill Winget at a health fair that my office was hosting for us. At that time I got into a conversation with Dr. Jill about the different types of treatments that they offer at Raleigh Specific Chiropractic. One of the treatments Dr. Jill told me about was the Spinal Decompression table that helps treat my exact problem, Disc Degeneration, which caught my attention. I scheduled a New Patient appointment in their office to learn more about how they could help me. Dr. James and Dr. Jill were the first doctors to go into detail about the health of my spine and what needed to be done to help correct it.

I have been coming to the office regularly for the past 6 weeks now and I am feeling much better. Even though they focus on the health of my spine, they also care about my overall well-being. With their care I feel as if I will be able to stop using some of the medications that I am on right now due to pain and inflammation. They have been a God send after all these years in pain.

Also, I want to mention that the staff at Raleigh Specific Chiropractic makes you feel welcomed; they are so helpful, caring, and friendly. Thank you to the doctors and their staff for your special care and support.

I had Fibromyalgia with a lot of back pain, extreme fatigue, memory fog, and high sensitivities to environmental scents. I also experienced asthma like symptoms. I tried numerous prescription sleep aids, depression medication, and muscle relaxers and pain medications. Each medication worked for a period of time and then no longer was affective. Between the pain medication and muscle relaxer, I had two hours of relief from pain and some energy. After 2 hours it was back to pain and fatigue. I experienced the pass of my language abilities and could only use 3-5 letter words. I had to use pads of memory helpers and still forgot to do things, where I placed things, etc. Just before coming to Dr. Winget, I was up to 100mg of Tramadol 4 times per day and still experiencing extremely high pain levels. I was forced to cut back to 3 times daily due to possibility of meds causing heart attack. I was still having to use muscle relaxers, 2-3 Skelaxin to supplement at least one time per day in order to function at a minimum level. I could only concentrate on 1 thing at a time. If I was interrupted while doing a task I would forget where I was at and would have to start over again, the list could go on and on. I never slept more than three hours. More than 10 degree change in temperature either up or down would keep me in bed all day due to pain and fatigue. Pain would travel to different places in the body; mostly upper back but sometimes lower back, hips, upper arms, pelvis.

After coming to Dr. Winget for treatment three times per week for a little over four weeks, the pain has subsided to a level 7. I have decreased my pain medication to 100mg 1 time per day and have not had to supplement it more than 1 or 2 times with muscle relaxers. The fatigue is not as bad as previously. I am beginning to fall asleep before midnight; previously it would be between 2-5am before falling asleep. I would have my husband wake me at 10am every day or else I would have slept until noon. If I woke before 8am, I would be a walking zombie and although my eyes would be open I could not be fully functional until 10am.

I cannot say enough about my treatment and have been praising God for healing me through Dr. Winget. Although I am not yet where I would like to be, I have come a long way in such a short time. I would never have believed such a thing was possible if I had not experienced if myself. I have suffered with the effects of Fibromyalgia for over six years and thought that it would be the way I would have to spend the rest of my life. I had to quit work almost 2 years ago. Thank you Dr. Winget, I look forward to the remaining treatments.
